Reason for this Blog

This is a showcase for Photos of ancesters/relatives for mcnare.tribalpages.com Tree. I believe family trees should be attractive, interesting, as well as, informational. Hence, I am enhancing my Photos and depicting them in era style layout (Victorian, Roaring Twenties, or Depression) whenever possible. Enjoy viewing/commenting on them.

My latest portrait, Hiram Cooksey, completed minutes ago.

I just finished this portrait of my wife's great-grandfather, Hiram Cooksey.
The photograph used for this portrait was taken in 1897. It was cropped from Hiram's family photo, a Victorian era setting. I have made it with a ornate frame with flowers surrounding it, as scrapbook pages were fancy in that era. I used just about all of my graphic editors to enhance, crop, remove background, and combine 5 images to complete this portrait. As stated in previous post, portrait can be viewed in setting I designed it for on my Tribalpages Tree. Follow instructions except use his name, Hiram Ely Cooksey, in the "find" box.
Here is an earlier portrait I completed about a year ago.
It was done for my family tree on Tribalpages.com, it doesn't look very attractive as a standalone print. The background, top and bottom of the print, was a pattern that match the background of my Tree. If you want to see it on the family tree, click on the "McNair and many others" link in "my favorite sites". After that page loads, input my passcode to view living person, and, in the find box at top right, type in Teya Cooksey and press enter.

This portrait is my most recent work. There really was not much work that I could do. The photo, a post World War I, Roaring Twenties or, perhaps, the Depression years print
, looks to be an early scanned reproduction, not lending itself to much enhancing. The most I could do was encase the photo in a Art Deco frame. Photo of Charles Franklin McNair

A Modern Day 'Portrait'

This Photo or Portrait, has I now seem to be calling the finished work, is a modern work. It is a post-World War II era, so the layout is less ornate.
As you see, it has multiple images it. I did not have all the graphic editors when I did this portrait.

Another 'portrait' of Lee Bruce with same photos

This 'portrait' is taken from the same set of photos. I just added text, making it a family history. Actually it is the favorite of mine as it agrees with all of the requirements listed in the above subtitle.

Enhancing the Photo?

This photo was created from the previous post's photo which is a very good example of Victorian family with few blemishments and only a little dark...it could be posted to the Tree as-is.  But with a little enhancing and a border of a elabroate victorian frame..it would be more attractive.  To try for a little more is my goal,  a Victorian scrapbook page

The Beginning...with non-retouched photo of Founder's family

Here is the 1st of many photos to be added to my mcnare.tribalpages.com 's Tree. It is Lee Bruce McNair, his wife, Jenny, and 5 of his children. Any comments? Lee Bruce is holding Edgar McNair, Jenny is holding Frank James McNair, the 2 girls on back row are Mary and Jessie McNair, the girl in front row is Rosie McNair, Girls Lee and Lizzie McNair were not born yet, not in photo.
